Discussion:

Genesis 6:13–14 KJV 1900
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Genesis 6:18 KJV 1900
But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Genesis 8:20–21 KJV 1900
And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
The faithfulness of Noah. Ark over 500ft long 50ft tall. Imagine the amount of work, financial investment, and dedication to the project.
What do you think compelled Noah to stick to his decision to obey God, even when times were tough or others gave him a hard time?
Has God ever asked you to do something difficult? How did you respond?
Noah’s example reminds us that God honors faithfulness.

Faithful to God

In every area of our lives we can reflect our faithfulness to God.
Scripture calls us to be steadfast and immoveable.
Demonstrating faithfulness honors God who is Himself the ultimate example of faithfulness.
1 Corinthians 15:51–58 KJV 1900
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Faithful to Our Family

Ephesians 5:31–6:4 KJV 1900
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Our faithfulness to God will be reflected in our families.
Scripture gives instruction on how spouses, parents, and children should interact and be a blessing to one another.

Faithful to Our Church

Our faithfulness to God will be reflected in our faithfulness to our local church.
Recognizing that the local church is God’s means of reaching our community, we should consistently serve and be a part of the life of the church.
Ephesians 6:21–22 KJV 1900
But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

Faithful to Our Commitments

Our faithfulness to God will be reflected in our faithfulness to the commitments we make.
In keeping our word and fulfilling our promises we are considerate of others and faithful to God.
Numbers 23:19 KJV 1900
God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
James 5:12 KJV 1900
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

If Jesus keeps His promises and we endeavor to reflect who He is, what does that mean for how we fulfill our obligations? _________________________________________________________________
